Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is a fame as the "industrial monosodium glutamate" is widely used in medicine, petroleum, building materials, food and daily chemical and other industries, its property mainly includes the thickening property, good water solubility, suspension and emulsion stability, protective colloid, and water and film adhesive performance, non-toxictasteless, biocompatibilitythixotropy, etc.
PHYSICOCHEMICALPROPERTIES:
1.Appearance:whiteor quasi-white powder.
2. Particle size: 80 mesh pass rate of100% , 100 mesh pass rate of more than 99.5%.
3.Carbonizationtemperature:280-300°C
4.Apparent density:0.25-0.70g/cm3 (usuallyaround 0.5g/cm3),specific gravity 1.26-1.31.
5.Discoloration temperature:190-200°C.
6.SurfaceTension:2%aqueous solution is 42-56 dyn/CN
7. Solubility: soluble in water and some organic solvents such as ethanol water, Dichloroethane, etc. . Theaqueous solution has surface activity. The solubility of HPMC varies with the viscosity, the lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility. The properties of HPMC of different specifications are different, the dissolution ofHPMCin wateris not affected by PH.
8. with the decrease of methoxyl content, HPMC gel point increased, water solubility and surface activitydecreased.
9. HPMC also has the thickening ability, salt drainage, low ash, acid-base stability, water retention, stabilityexcellent film-forming, as well as a wide range of enzyme resistance, dispersion and adhesion and othercharacteristics.
